Here are some bands that we at

feel are worthy of our love.

BANDS:

The Springfields - Straight up hardcore punk from the happy land of pleasant living.

Trephine - Imagine if Skeleton Key and Slayer had a love child who couldn't speak... then you would be getting a close approximation of what this super heavy instramental Baltimore band sounds like. Lots of Metal served up with a heaping slab of extra percussion... oxygen tanks, metal cans, etc... Heavy with a capital H. And then they are all nice off stage. Who woulda thought it?

Gerty - A great pop band that defected from baltimore to live in north carolina. What were they thinking? Baltimore is so happy and gentle! Then they broke up and now they are back together again. Yay!

Prosolar Mechanics - a great New Brunswick band. Not many kickass bands with a female vocalist out there, call me a mysogenist if you want, but this is one of the ones that makes my litebrite light up into little heart shaped patterns of love. Plus they rock. Hard. Imagine if your best friend's incredibly sexy older sister carried a taser. And used it on you all the time. And you liked it. But why did you like it? What is wrong with you?? What made you become so twisted mentally??? Man are you a sicko. Go seek some psychiatric help. Sheesh.

The Chernobyl Kids - This is Tom's brothers band. Everyone calls him Funny. That is his nickname. I don't know why. He used to be in a fairly big band called the Pee Tanks. Which played Hardcore. And so do the Chernobyl Kids. And they do it well. Beyond well! What is beyond well? I don't know but they have gone there and have been back like punk rock bodhisattvas weilding the hammer of punk rock for your own enlightenment.

Animatronics - We forgot to mention these guys on our last album thank you list!! I have been kicking myself ever since because I love them!!! If you like Devo AT ALL you will love these guys. Not that they are Devo rip offs mind you... I only mention it to steer you gently in the right direction, which is their new album "2000: The Year Of The Future". According to their website they are "animated entertainers designed by the Toidinami corporation to relieve humans of the humiliating task of entertaining others". And I thought they were actually human. Silly me.

The Scott Farcus Affair - Friends of ours from waaaaaay back when they used to be called Butch. We don't like having to play with them because when we do everyone in the audience likes them better. Damn them. Except in Baltimore. When we both play in Baltimore no one likes either of us. ;) I think people should start calling it Baltiless for that reason alone.

Aviso' Hara - another great New Brunswick band. Indie rock the way indie rock should be. Man, can their drummer drink. Kinda reminds me of our old drummer Marc Berrong.

Cats and Jammers - the most cuddley superpowered rock band you will ever hear. Image if Mekkagodzilla was fuzzy like a bunny and smashed you with his giant metal fist of rage.

Roto - Roto is on the same label (Resin Records) as us. Imagine LandSpeedRecord being much better, sweeter, and more sincere... that is Roto. One of our freely available MP3s of the WEEK was a cut off of Roto's new CD "the Low Power Hour" that Charley did computer rhythms and sequencing for. The song is called "Wrecking Ball"... check it out.

Slowjets - The evil band that stole our last drummer from us. Damn them. I would hate them if they weren't so goddamn tasty. Of course they wouldn't never have become half so delicious if Charley hadn't bestowed his mastering genius on their album "Worm Into Phoenix". Where does all Charley's infinite talent come from? God? Barney? Your mom? Who knows? Who cares. Not me. Just accept things for the way they are... okay?

The Oranges - If there was a superlative given out from Baltimore's punk rock high school then the Oranges would have won most popular. Of course there is no such high school but you get the idea. Who doesn't like the Oranges? Who?? I ask you! Only those who have never heard them that is who.

Pulaski - How could you not love a band named after the most blue collar white trash stretch of road in Baltimore? Why do white trash have blue collar jobs? It seems unfair... anyway... these guys are funnier and goofier than we are. If that is possible. Yeah it is... actually we are kinda scary when you really think about it. They used to be called SICK but changed their name... I don't know why but they did it anyway. Too bad for them... because they would have been the only band in Baltimore besides lungfish to be around as long as we have... thanks guys for making us the winners in that race. I think. My fav song by them is about Rodin.

Mil Mulliganos - We played with these guys at the WEFest. They rocked. Why don't we play with them more??? Because they live in Chicago, that's why. Check out their new album... "Flavor Country Fire Fight".

The Uniform - We share our practice space with the Uniform. They make us mad because they set up their drums on our side of the room, but we won't do anything about it. This is because they scare us - they rock too hard. Harder than any mere mortal could possibly rock. Who knew that was even possible? Anyway... far and away the most bone crushing original punk band on our little links list. Check em out. If you have the guts.
